Shoemaker Certification Requirements
Dr. Ming began the Shoemaker Certification process in 2016 and completed it in 2017. This combination of written, oral, and essay-based evaluation ensures that Certified Providers possess the highest level of competency in applying the Shoemaker Protocol in clinical practice.
In late 2018, Dr. Shoemaker introduced the Proficiency Partner Certification program, originally offered in person and later also online. It requires passing a four-hour, 171-question multiple-choice exam graded automatically online. The certification program transitioned to the online multiple choice exam in the years to follow. Thus, the standards for the original certified providers were more rigorous than the ones that followed.
Written Exam
A 211-question, handwritten exam with short-answer and “select all that apply” questions, personally graded by Dr. Shoemaker with written comments.
Oral Exam
A live, direct evaluation with Dr. Shoemaker to assess diagnostic reasoning and protocol application.
Two Clinical Essays
Evidence-Based Medicine — a discussion of the principles and application of EBM in clinical practice
Steps of the Treatment Protocol — detailing the sequential therapeutic approach of the Shoemaker Protocol
Prodrome Science Elite Practitioner
A role offered by invitation to select providers who share the mission of transforming lives, challenging the medical status quo, and redefining what is possible in patient care.
As part of this program, Dr. Ming has completed advanced training and has exclusive access to two revolutionary tools:
BioMetrix BioScan™ Lab & Report
An advanced lipidomic analysis that can reveal cellular dysfunction before symptoms appear. The BioScan™ identifies hidden imbalances in brain, mitochondrial, and metabolic health, creating a precise, trackable roadmap for restoration. Results are delivered with a dynamic report that explains the data and quantifies what is happening at the cellular level.
BioMetrix NeuroMRI™
A next-generation brain scan that uses NODDI imaging to assess neurite density, orientation, and fluid content. This technology provides a detailed, quantifiable view of brain integrity, connectivity, and function — from axonal health to early signs of inflammation or neural degeneration — enabling more informed and timely interventions.

Environmental Guidance and Safe Housing Support
This kind of grounded, real-world support can make a significant difference for those whose recovery depends on a healthier environment—and Dr. Ming is committed to walking alongside her patients every step of the way.
Dr. Ming’s understanding of environmental health is rooted in both personal experience and years of clinical practice. She has spent extensive time learning about mold remediation, low-toxicity materials, and safe housing—not only through continuing education, but by navigating these challenges herself. She is currently building a SIREWALL™ (Structurally Insulated Rammed Earth) tiny home in the high desert, designed with a strong focus on mold safety and healthy materials. She is also a supporter of Geoship™ and its vision for regenerative, ceramic-based dome homes, and continues to explore models of housing that support long-term healing.
In her practice, Dr. Ming helps patients navigate the often overwhelming process of environmental inspection, testing, and remediation. She provides individualized guidance on mold avoidance, interpreting reports, modifying home or work environments, and making practical decisions during recovery. While she is not an inspector or remediator, she can refer to trusted professionals when needed and shares insights drawn from both personal experience and her work with patients facing similar challenges.
